INTENDED USE
This Product is intended to be used by professionals to quantitative determination of NGAL in human serum, plasma in vitro.
CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE
NGAL (Neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin) is a secretory glycoprotein normally expressed in neutrophils, renal tubular epithelial cells, liver parenchyma cells, vascular endothelial cells, etc. It is mainly used for auxiliary diagnosis of renal function injury in clinic. The pathology of acute renal failure (ARF) is mainly glomerular injury and necrosis. Under normal physiological conditions, the content of NGAL is low, but it can stimulate the differentiation of renal progenitor cells into renal tubular epithelial cells to ensure the normal development of kidney. When acute renal injury occurs, the level of NGAL is significantly increased. NGAL can be used as a sensitive indicator for monitoring and prognosis of acute kidney injury.
